What’s incomplete?

March 2nd, 2010 by Bobby Palmer

Responding to a blog question: We are not being given the number of boxes that have been counted or what percent of the vote remains to be counted. Counting the vote has been delayed with troubles counting the Republican early voting, or so I have been told.

State senator -Averitt of Waco-wins after announcing withdrawal

State senator wins after announcing withdrawal

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — State Sen. Kip Averitt of Waco has won
re-election even though he announced in January he was dropping out of
the race.

It was too late for Averitt to get his name off the
ballot when he said he was suspending his campaign because of health
concerns.

Averitt defeated Darren Yancy in Tuesday’s Republican primary. There were no Democratic primary candidates for Averitt’s seat.

Republican
officials said Averitt could decide to stay in the job or party
officials could select a new nominee. Democrats say they can select a
candidate if Averitt withdraws.

The 16-year veteran lawmaker represents 10 counties stretching from Waco north to the outskirts of Fort Worth.
